United Way of Otero County
A marvelous opportunity for each of us to help our neighbors and thereby help ourselves.
When we reach our goal of supporting families, seniors, underserved youth and those needing rehabilitation, then we strengthen the entire community. What you are blessed to give helps Alamogordo and it's surrounding communities to better thrive, develop and live. In the giving, we all can have a part to make the whole village healthy.
To advance the common good, create lasting change and enrich lives by harnessing the collective compassion and resources of our community to improve lives.
To bring together businesses, community organizations, volunteers, government, private foundations and nonprofit agencies around a shared vision – to help youth, individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability, healthy living, building youth assets and providing safety net support.
Advancing the Common Good
Creating Opportunities for a Better Life for All
Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. That’s why United Way’s work is focused on the building blocks for a good life:
- Education – Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential
- Income – Promoting Financial Stability and Independence
- Health – Improving People’s Health
Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy. United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Living united means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future.learn more
Special Thanks to COMET CLEANERS, Alamogordo NM for cleaning all of our coats used in our Koats for Kids campaign.
Thanks to all of our sponsors, who provided coats and those whom let us place boxes at their business. We had a sucessfull year providing more than 500 coats to children and teens across Otero County.
A big Thank you to MSgt Stacy Pilgrim and her volunteers for picking up all the coats and taking to Comet Cleaners. United Way appreciates everything you do for us.
